2026 Spring CSA Collection: Spring’s Awakening
Welcome to our founding CSA Collection.
This Spring our first collection features an 8-week mini-season (⅓ of our normal season) that celebrates the garden awakening from its winter rest, raring up for a year of abundant freshness.
“We are focused on healing our bodies, communities, and land through fresh food, and our founding shareholders will be at the forefront of this mission.”
We’re inviting 6 individual and 6 family shareholders to root deeply with us as founders and experience fresh, local, seasonal eating right here in Birmingham ✨🌱.
Stay tuned for our 2026 Summer CSA Collection! This 24-week collection will be filled with your classic summer produce from varieties you may have never tasted as well as heritage crops grown across the African diaspora.

Spring’s Awakening: The 3 Movements
Weeks 1-3 (March 22nd, 29th, April 5th)
Salad Days
Welcome to Spring's first harvests! These early weeks celebrate cool-season quick growers that thrive in March Alabama weather. While you won't see tomatoes or peppers yet (they'd freeze!), what you're getting is hard-pressed to find anywhere else: lettuce harvested that morning, radishes so fresh they're still crunchy-sweet, and spinach that's never seen the inside of a plastic clamshell. This is seasonal eating—and in just a few weeks, when cooking greens and peas arrive, you'll have been on the journey from Winter to Spring with us.
Peak Season Picks:
Bloomsdale Spinach
Lettuce varieties (Buttercrunch, Black-seeded Simpson)
Seasonal Features:
French Breakfast & White Icicle Radishes
Rocket Arugula
Weeks 4-5 (April 12th, 19th)
The Green Rush
This is the week Spring truly arrives! As days lengthen and soil warms, hearty cooking greens, sweet snap peas, and the first fresh herbs join your tender lettuces. Red Russian kale with its beautiful purple veins, crisp Shanghai bok choy perfect for stir-fries, and sugar snap peas so sweet you'll eat them straight from the bag. This is when your share expands in both size and variety. The momentum is building toward peak Spring.
Peak Season Picks:
Red Russian Kale & Dwarf Siberian Kale
Shanghai Bok Choy
Oregon Sugar Pod II Peas (snap peas)
Lincoln Peas (shelling peas)
Fresh Cilantro
Seasonal Features:
Bloomsdale Spinach
Lettuce varieties (Buttercrunch & Black-seeded Simpson)
Weeks 6-8 (April 26th, May 3rd, 10th)
Peak Spring Abundance
These final three weeks showcase Spring at its absolute peak. Every box now includes cooking greens, sweet root carrots and kohlrabi, cabbage — a trusted storage vegetable, fresh herbs rotating through dill and cilantro, and the last of the peas. This is maximum variety, maximum abundance, and the culmination of everything we've been building toward. You'll receive 11 different items (17 varieties!) across these three weeks—a full expression of Alabama Spring.
